Cornelius Silent Auction
Antique lovers, treasure hunters and memorabilia collectors will delight in the recurring silent auction hosted by our Cornelius ReStore.
The Cornelius ReStore was one of the first ReStores in North Carolina to offer silent auctions. Generally, donations of collectibles and unique items—antique furniture, vintage housewares, handmade quilts, signed books, etc.—are difficult to price.
These are put in the warehouse and reserved to put on the silent auction sales floors. A new auction opens every three weeks; bidding is open for two weeks, with an “off” week between auctions for our store volunteers to set up the next auction.
Interested bidders write the amount of their bid on a bidding sheet. Then, it’s as simple as registering a phone number with the cashier. (Sorry, no online or telephone bids are accepted.) Auctions open on Wednesday and bidding closes at 2 p.m. on the Wednesday two weeks following. Bidders need not be present at the auction close to win, but sealed bids are accepted during the last half hour of the auction for items with multiple bidders present. If a bidder is not present, but has the highest bid, we will call you and notify you to pick up your treasure.
