In 1996, Terry began his passion for OTHFH as a volunteer. He served as the ReStore Manager and was named the Executive Director in 2002. Terry serves on the Habitat International Global Volunteer Mobilization Committee and Affiliate Enhancement Committee, is a member of the Subject Experience Team (S.E.T.), working with other affiliates around the country in growing their capacity, is a member of the Lake Norman Community Development Council and serves on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of North Carolina, the state support organization for the 84 Habitat affiliates in NC as chair of the Planning Committee.
Originally from Virginia Beach, his background includes teaching at SC School for the Deaf and Blind and 20 years in the restaurant business, serving as director of operations for all company-owned Pizza Hut restaurants in NC (& a few in SC). A graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, with a B.A. in sociology, and many hours in education, history and religion, he is married to M.C., with 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Terry and his wife M.C. are members of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Davidson.

Rachel volunteered with Habitat for 11 years prior to becoming the Director of Families Services in 2004. From 2007-2011 in a new role, as Director of Land Management and later Finance, she acquired land, developed sub-divisions by working with town officials, architects and engineers, managed federal grants and applied for new funding sources and oversaw the Finance Department and Family Services Department. As of June 2011, she became the Director of Operations which added managing the Construction Manager to her responsibilities.

Tammy joined OTHFH in September 2009 as the Resource Development Director. She has a B.A. in English and Business Communications and over 15 years of experience in both the for-profit and non-profit world. Tammy has a strong background in marketing, events and planning.
Originally from Virginia, she moved to the Carolinas most recently from Florida. She currently lives in Cornelius and is a member of Lake Norman Baptist Church.

Amy joined OTHFH in 2010 as the Resource Development Associate with a background in both non-profit fundraising and construction. Amy has found her education in industrial organizational psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill (B.A.) and University of Tennessee (Ph.D.) helpful in developing relationships with area businesses, churches and Habitat supporters.
Amy and her husband Bruce live in Mooresville with their 2 children.

Cathy joined OTHFH in late October 2009 as the Volunteer Coordinator, however, she had been a Resource Development Volunteer with us since February 2009. Cathy dedicated 2 days a week, eight hours a day to our team as a volunteer.
Originally from New York, she relocated to Cornelius to be near her daughter. In New York, she worked in non-profits for more than eight years.

Jessica came to Our Towns Habitat in July of 2010, filling the newly-formed staff position of Youth United and Community Involvement Coordinator. Her job has shifted to Youth and Volulnteer Associate with responsibilities ranging from coordinating the youth program, assisting with volunteer services, and is part of the Resource Development team. She graduated from Wofford College in May 2010 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Religion.

Dorinda (Dori) joined Our Towns Habitat in June of 2011 as Accounting Specialist. She earned her B.S. from SUNY Brockport and has 16 years of experience in the non-profit sector including Urban League of Rochester and The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.
Originally from upstate New York, she moved to NC 11 years ago for warmer weather and less snow. Having lived in Mooresville for several years Dori currently resides in Concord with her husband Mark. They have 6 adult children and 3 grandchildren and enjoy spending time interacting in their lives. They are very active in the Fourquare Church and currently attend Harvest Community Church in Concord.
Dori is looking forward to a long and satisfying relationship with Our Towns Habitat and partnering together with community and volunteers to build affordale houses that families can make into homes.

Melinda joined Our Towns Habitat for Humanity in June 2011 as a part-time accounting assistant. She has a B.S. in Business Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill and worked in accounting for 4 years prior to joining Our Towns. Melinda is married and has one son. She lives in Huntersville and is a member of Life Fellowship Church.

After serving 10 years in the banking industry Lareka joined OTHFH in 2007 as the Director of Family Services. She earned her B.S in Business Administration from Strayer University and also holds a Masters in Business Administration concentrating in Finance. Lareka has a strong background in banking, finance and sales. She is the youngest to have purchased a Habitat home with the affiliate since year 2000. “My faith led me to OTHFH, a place where I believe my background, experience and skills are used to help others.”
Kertisa Williams, Mortgage Processor x 125
Kertisa joined OTHFH in March 2011 as the part time Mortgage Processor. She was born in Charlotte, NC and raised in Lancaster, SC since the age of 2. She attended the University of South Carolina for a few years before returning to Charlotte to help take care of her grandmother in 1997. Kertisa has a banking background and worked for Bank of America for almost 7 years. She has one daughter, Kiara. They attend White Oak A.M.E Zion church in Lancaster, SC. She loves to read, travel, shop and come to OTHFH every day and make a difference in someone’s life.
LeGretta Neal, Family Services Associate x 123
Since March 28, 2011 LeGretta has been with OTHFH and came to this establishment through the SCSEP which works with senior employment. She is here part time and finds that the job is rewarding. Her education background is a BA in education from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. LeGretta was born and reared in Davidson, NC but raised her family in Charlotte, NC. She moved back to her home this year. Her greatest joy is serving people and again she is in a place where this is done. Another blessing is that LeGretta still has her eighty-four year old mother, her son and daughter and six grandchildren. She is proud to say she has a grandchild that has graduated from Saint Andrews in Laurinburg, another is a junior at Davidson, two are students at Central Piedmont and one is at Empire studying Cosmetology. God is the strength of her life and is first. OTHFH is LeGretta's extended family and she says, "we all strive to finish our tasks." Miranda joined Our Towns Habitat for Humanity in September 2007. She held a position as a Commercial Banker with Wachovia Bank, for 7 years prior to Our Towns. She is rewarded daily with her current position at Habitat by playing a vital part of being able to assist families to obtain their goals of becoming homeowners.

Manny has worked in the construction industry (private sector) since 1985. His faith in Christ brought him into the home building ministry with OTHFH in 2003. In August, 2011, Manny was named Construction Manager.

In 2006, Syd joined OTHFH as a full time site supervisor specializing in the finish work on the houses. He serves as the AmeriCorps, Fleet and Construction Tools Manager as well as the Warranty Facilitator. Formerly, he owned Outdoors Etc., a camping and paddle store in Cornelius. When he closed the store in 2005 he filled a vacant AmeriCorps position.

M.C. began volunteering with Our Towns Habitat in 1996 on the construction site and in the ReStore. She joined the staff in 2002. With a degree in Education of the Deaf from Converse College, she attended graduate school at the University of S.C. A Virginia native, she is married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. M.C. enjoys Global Village trips (11 to Guatemala), working on the construction site, Women Build, traveling, painting, reading, and most of all, spending time with family.

Jean began volunteering at the ReStore in 1996 and came on staff in 2001. He husband, Mike, served as a contractor for 2 years in Iraq. Her "children" are her 4 Chihuahuas: Chula, Bruno, Corey and Bandito. She is also on the board for Scotts Creek Recreational Center in Statesville.

Tammy began volunteering at the ReStore in 2007 while also working a part-time job. She was hired with OTHFH as staff in September 2010. Her previous careers include accounting, administrative support and customer service.
Originally from Virginia, Tammy has a son who still lives in the mountains of Virginia and 1 grandson. She has a house full of furry friends, including Baby George, Mr. MacTavish, Merlyn and Rosie. Tammy loves to explore small towns while traveling throughout Virginia and the Carolinas. "I love Habitat. I love helping people."
Larry Phillips Warehouse Associate, Mooresville
Larry joined OTHFH in September 2010 to help open the new Mooresville ReStore. For years he was the owner and operator of a small bottled water business doing anything from bottle washing to president of the company. After selling the business he wrote a novel (not yet published) about growing up in Mills Home (the main branch of the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina.) Larry and his wife Libby have 1 daughter, Grier. He enjoys writing, golf, travel, poker and reading.

Ben is the youngest employee on staff. He began volunteering at the ReStore in 2005 and was hired shortly after as a part time employee. He graduated from Z. B. Vance High School in 2007. In 2009 Ben was hired as a full time employee at the Cornelius ReStore and will transfer to the Mooresville ReStore when it opens as head driver.
Harry Harriman Head Driver, Cornelius
Harry began volunteering in 2002, was hired on at the ReStore 6 months later. He is retired from Flexible Packaging & Printing, having worked in many capacities, from the printing press to plant manager. He has an associate degree in accounting and served in the Army for 8 ½ years. Harry’s claim to fame is that he is the oldest staff member. He and his wife Lynn have 3 children, 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.

Pam began volunteering in late 2009 in the ReStore and was hired as an employee in September 2010. She and her husband, Nick, most recently moved to Gastonia from California where Pam worked in customer service and sales for a large furnishing company. When not working or volunteering at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen, Pam enjoys sewing blankets for kids, reading, gardening and cooking. Pam has 1 daughter, Sheena, who lives in Washington.

Cathy began volunteering for Habitat in 2003 and was hired to work at the ReStore in 2005. She currently is Deconstruct Coordinator. She lives with her husband John and son Michael, a high school student. Her son Ben is an employee with the ReStore in Mooresville.
Turl Bowen Warehouse Associate, Cornelius
Turl began volunteering at the ReStore in May 2006 and was hired as a part-time Warehouse Associate in March 2007. He is a retired electrical engineer who worked for Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent before retiring. Turl was in the Air Force for 4 years and has his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from NC State. He and his wife Vivian have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Don Bechtol Warehouse Associate, Cornelius
Don began volunteering with Our Towns Habitat in 2005 and was hired as a part-time Warehouse Associate at the ReStore in February 2008. He began volunteering in construction with the Charlotte affiliate in 1995. Before retirement, Don was a project manager and did special reporting for Bank of America. He and his wife Pat have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Bob worked in airline safetly before retiring. After retirement, he worked for Matrix Instruments selling and servicing medical equipment.
Luis Soler Warehouse Associate, Cornelius
Luis was hired in the Cornelius ReStore to fill a position left open when the Mooresville store opened. He previously worked for Adam's Mark Hotel as a cook. He received an associates degree in Liberal Arts while in Bronx, NY. Luis is originally from Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish. He is happily married to his wife, Veronica.
