New Construction and Neighborhood Revitalization
New Build
Poole Place II
On May 8, 2011, Our Towns Habitat for Humanity blessed the first of 8 new homes sponsored by Federal Home Loan Bank at Poole Place II. We began construction on the 8 homes in February and with the help of all the volunteers, Youth United, Women Build and Davidson United Methodist Church, we completed all 8 by early fall.

Mills Avenue Townhomes
On May 1, 2011 Our Towns Habitat for Humanity dedicated our first 4 townhomes in Mooresville. Each is Energy Star certified. The townhome projects are a new housing solution accomplishment for Our Towns Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to complete 6 more units in the next 2 years.

Wish List
With the changing needs of Construction and different through ReHabitat, our need for equipment has changed. The following is a list of items that we need. Currently, we rent this equipment and that is not a good use of our resources. Therefore, if you or someone you know could donate, or sell at a greatly reduced price in exchange for a donation letter, please contact Manny Rosado, Construction Manager or Tammy Cox, Director of Resource Development.

Dump Trailer - Used primarily for hauling waste material off our ReHabitat sites. It would also be useful for many other tasks.
Scaffolding - All amounts to include bracing, foot levelers and walk planking.
Big Trucks - The old yellow truck is losing its ability to tow the trailer. It has almost 300,000 miles on it and, well, it's tired. So we are wishing for 2 (and hoping for 1) heavy duty truck - a 1-ton at a minimum, either a pickup truck or a utility truck. This vehicle needs to be able to pull the above trailer loaded with 5 tons of waste materials.
HD Lawnmower - At least a 6 hp with large rear wheels (no larger than 3 ft wide) OR Industrial walk-behind mower (with enclosed trailer with a ramp for storage)
Hand Tools - As one would suspect, hand tools get tired and worn out. Our wish list is simple and straight forward:
Table Saw - one that is easily portable to sites.
Miter (chop) Saw - preferably at least 10 inch blades.
Chain Saw - 16 to 18 in.
Gas Powered Hedge Trimmers - 2
Gas Powered Blowers - 2
Straight Shaft Trimmer - with a blade instead of a the string trimmer attached
Gas Powered String Trimmers - 2
Safety Glasses - we use so many each day on the site and they get scratched, dirty beyond cleaning or, for some unknown reason, they find a hiding place in tool bags and run away from site. We didn't think we abused them that much!
At the very least, hopefully everyone will keep their eyes out for good deals and let us know!
Thanks in advance for your generosity and continued support of Our Towns Habitat.
